07/30/21 Grounded for COVID - Andy for 14 days, Shelly for 21 - This is Andy's Story

After our trip to Vegas/Brian Head we got home and settled in for a busy week.  Here's Andy's story:  It finally got me. Yes, I have Covid-19. No politics here. No shared post from some national nobody. This is me, Andy Griffin. And I just want to share my experience and cut through a lot of the bull being peddled out there. It started with sniffles and a very mild cough on Monday, Felt like a minor cold, that's all. Went home from work and took a nap. But my usual 30-minute nap lasted 3 hours and I woke up with a sore back, which isn't that unusual for me. Went to work Tuesday, feeling ok, a few sniffles, sore back, no big deal. Again, a long nap after work and now sore muscles everywhere. Here's the complicated part. I felt great on Wednesday. I thought my cold was gone. Very minor cough, sore muscles were all but gone. Went to work, although did pass on a few regular activities, mostly normal life. Even played Pickleball with friends Wednesday night (for two ho...

07/21/21 Getaway to Vegas and Brian Head

Andy and I took a trip down to Vegas and then to Brian Head to celebrate (in advance?! haha) our anniversary (which is October 4).  We stayed at the MGM, rode the monorail, ate famous pizza, found some yummy BBQ joints, enjoyed(?) the strip at night...cover your eyes!!!!...and enjoyed the city life.  Then we drove north out of the heat to Brian Head and rode the lift to the top of the mountain, hiked down. Got BBQ in Parowan. Had a big rain storm. And ran into Tammy Himelright, Deanna (court clerk from Hurricane) and Teresa (Christensen) Fails from our old ward.  And the three of us who were at once time court clerks were all staying on the same floor right next to each other...like we planned it?!?!  haha.  What are the odds?! We had a really nice time just the two of us.  Soul Belly's BBQ in Vegas - a new favorite! John Mulls BBQ - outdoor dining only We walked a couple miles and waited over an hour in 100 degree outdoor restaurant for  this st...

07/04/21 Family Vacation - Park City, Provo

We spent two nights in Park City at the Grand Summit Hotel. First night with Aj and Becca. Second night with Bryce and Marlee. On Friday we headed down the mountain and helped Dallas and McKayla move for a couple of hours. Saturday for about 4 hours. In between that we went to Pebble Beach and rented kayak and paddle boards, swam, went to the outlet mall, giant Costco in SLC, visited Grandpa & ma L for a BBQ with Ruth, went to trader Joe's & Hobby Lobby. Vacation went too fast but it was fun to see all the kids and be together and have fun!
