07/21/21 Getaway to Vegas and Brian Head

Andy and I took a trip down to Vegas and then to Brian Head to celebrate (in advance?! haha) our anniversary (which is October 4).

We stayed at the MGM, rode the monorail, ate famous pizza, found some yummy BBQ joints, enjoyed(?) the strip at night...cover your eyes!!!!...and enjoyed the city life.

Then we drove north out of the heat to Brian Head and rode the lift to the top of the mountain, hiked down. Got BBQ in Parowan. Had a big rain storm. And ran into Tammy Himelright, Deanna (court clerk from Hurricane) and Teresa (Christensen) Fails from our old ward.  And the three of us who were at once time court clerks were all staying on the same floor right next to each other...like we planned it?!?!  haha.  What are the odds?!

We had a really nice time just the two of us.

Soul Belly's BBQ in Vegas - a new favorite!

John Mulls BBQ - outdoor dining only

We walked a couple miles and waited over an hour in 100 degree outdoor restaurant for
this stuffed pizza. We finally got to eat at 10 p.m. Yummy!!!!
(Sadly we noticed the air conditioned portion of the restaurant AFTER the meal was over!!!!)

7 acres of pools - lazy river...2 times around and a thunderstorm ended the fun.

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north.  Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby.  Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us.  Holly and Millie My dad's been in the care center so we stopped by to visit him. He's being well cared for. He is struggling to put sentences together. We came and went to church with him at the care center. He's been asking for a really good pizza. So we w...

03/29/15 6 months scanning project...done!!!!

3/29/2015   I can't believe another week has gone by.  I don't think I took any pictures this week. I'll have to go look and see. Before... So it was a busy week at work.  We completed our 6 month project of scanning all the files in the office.  Whew. Pretty awesome feeling.  I have an assistant Sara (since January); a volunteer Sheron; and a court ordered worker to thank for getting me through this project.  I did lots myself but I probably would have taken at least a year to get it done without their help. We are going to have a thank you/celebration lunch tomorrow.  City is buying pizza. Piles of files to scan Thursday we had the relief society birthday party and the girls were invited.  So we ate dinner at church while dad went to work.  It was also the day before Dallas' 20th birthday so he, dad and McKayla went to Carl's for a big burger.  I think it was probably a pretty lame birthday day for him this ...

04/09/25 Temple organist

St. George Temple The organ is in the left front of the chapel Church organ The temple organ looks like this, only all white Excerp from:  8/21/95 Our ward here seems fickle.  Not really dedicated. Relief Society usually only has 10-15 sisters.  I was called to be RS pianist in December 94 and have really loved my calling.  It has made me practice and get better and not be afraid.  I have really enjoyed not having a big audience and being about to say, oh well, just a few people heard me screw up!  I hope I continue to practice and play in our next ward.  I never played for people before this and it was a real growing experience for me.  Someday I want to be good enough to play in front of sacrament meeting and not mess up!  I would love to be the temple organist and get to just practice in the peaceful chapel for an hour or two once or twice a week. It is so peaceful there.       Three decades later, an unexpected path has led...
