04/07/26 Trip to Italy, Day 15, Tuesday, Venice to Paris to SLC to Home, Oh my.

We ended up traveling 28 hours from the time we got up (at 3 a.m. in Italy) until arriving home in St George at 11:50 p.m.  Again, I don't think there were any pictures taken...but if I find some I'll add them later.  We got up at 3 a.m. and at 3:30 a.m. met a taxi out front of our hotel. The airport was less than a mile away but it was $25 for the ride. (Which I guess was a deal? ). Our hotel clerk set it up. When I looked online it was $85 euros!!! Goodness!  In theory, we could have walked -- but it's dark at 3:30 a.m. and a long way to go with luggage. So we opted for the taxi.  We flew from Venice to Paris. Again in Paris we had a long haul to get from one plane to the other and a short time to get there. We made it without incident.  Our final flight was Paris to SLC, 10 hr 45 minutes. Long flight!  We were fortunate to all get seated in the last row of the plane and it wasn't too bad. I watched 4 movies tho, and we still weren't there yet! When we go...

04/06/26 Trip to Italy, Day 14, Monday, Naples to Venice

At this point in the trip, not many pictures are being taken. I think there are some but I don't know where.  We got up Monday morning and took a taxi back to the train station. We left Naples around 11 a.m. and got to Venice around 4 p.m. Then we found our airbnb, which was close to the airport.  Kevin and Becky went out exploring while Andy and I chilled. Andy was getting pretty worn out by this point in the game. We met for dinner at a pizza place across the street from our hotel and then called it an early night as we had a 3 a.m. wakeup call!

04/05/26 Trip to Italy, Day 13, Sunday, Naples to Procida Island

Procida island, according to our hotel host, is the poor man's island, where the locals go. He says Capri is the rich man/tourist island and the locals don't go there much.  We went  by ferry - walked around and enjoyed lunch outside —pulled pork and bacon burger—-pulled bomb was the name of the entree.   Funny weird thing...there were tables outside in the town. We thought you could just sit there. So we did. And then we were asked to leave because they were associated with a restaurant, that was CLOSED for the day?!  What the heck! We went back to where we ordered our food and asked if we could eat inside, they said NO because we told them we were eating outside already. (There is a cover charge of $2-$4 euros per person at all sit down restaurants). Lesson learned. Oy.   So we ended up eating on some park benches.  After lunch, Andy and I headed back to Naples earlier than the others...because Andy was tired. When we got back to Naples we mus...

04/04/26 Trip to Italy, Day 12, Saturday, Naples to Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Pilano and the Gardens

Marco picked us up again for our 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. van ride. We saw so many fun things along the Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Pilano and the Gardens.  Becky hired  Marco to tour us for two days. Marco came in a big van and picked us all up around 8:30 a.m.  Marco was awesome because he grew up in the area and was able to share so many things about what we were seeing. We even went past his current home. He dropped us off at convenient places and then would wait while we did whatever activity we were doing.  Ravello Ravello Ravello So many ceramics shops!!! There were at least 4 in this tiny town.  Made us think of Holly! Gardens This also made us think of Holly and Erik... They are Wagner's afterall! I LOVE this view! Traveling is exhausting! So exhausting! Even Chris took a little siesta, although he's not as obvious about his sleeping! haha

04/02/26 Trip to Italy, Day 10, Thursday, Naples

K, honestly, getting kind of worn out at this point! haha.  We had a nice breakfast at 9:30 a.m. then hung around waiting for Ruth and chilled playing games on the patio. Then once Ruth arrived we played games waiting for the guy to check her in. Then we went to lunch at a cheesesteak place Becky and Kevin love, found the castle from the other day but it was open today! yeah!  and a high elevator with a beautiful view of the city. Turns out the elevator was really close to our apartment!! Honestly, the elevator was a game changer for me and Andy. We were able to get up to our place SO much easier than the way we had been going. And at $1.50/each per ride...it was well worth it to use it over the next couple of days.  We played some more games and then Ruth and Chris and us went to dinner and the supermarket we found. 04/01/26 Trip to Italy, Day 9, Wednesday, Naples to the Island of Capri

We went to Capri by f erry. The weather looked less than promising...but it blessed us and got better as the day went! We walked around Capri and Anacapri. The road up the island was crazy!!! All the crazy of Naples on a very switchback type road...traffic squeezing by zipping up and down the skinny mountain road. Buses that there truly was not room for but somehow they made it through.  And people walking up there amongst all the chaos.  The island was really pretty. We were able to walk all the way down Capri. At the bottom was a beautiful garden that we were taken through with our host.  Our host was a solo singer with Bocelli when he wasn't a tour guide. And he serenaded us twice!  It was sooo cool!  We went on a boat around the island. The water was very active so it was a little bit exciting and rough. The scenery was breathtaking. The second serenade was out at the blue grotto and it was spectacular.  Afterward we played games.   Shelly and Andy...
