04/05/26 Trip to Italy, Day 13, Sunday, Naples to Procida Island

Procida island, according to our hotel host, is the poor man's island, where the locals go. He says Capri is the rich man/tourist island and the locals don't go there much.

We went by ferry - walked around and enjoyed lunch outside —pulled pork and bacon burger—-pulled bomb was the name of the entree.

Funny weird thing...there were tables outside in the town. We thought you could just sit there. So we did. And then we were asked to leave because they were associated with a restaurant, that was CLOSED for the day?!  What the heck! We went back to where we ordered our food and asked if we could eat inside, they said NO because we told them we were eating outside already. (There is a cover charge of $2-$4 euros per person at all sit down restaurants). Lesson learned. Oy.

So we ended up eating on some park benches.

After lunch, Andy and I headed back to Naples earlier than the others...because Andy was tired. When we got back to Naples we must have taken a wrong turn...because we ended up walking A LOT before eventually finding the elevator to get us back home...only a tour bus had just arrived and there were so many people waiting in line. So we went and sat by the water and waited the better part of an hour. Then headed back. The line was gone and we thought we were golden. We went inside and paid and then found a rather long line on the inside of the building!  We did eventually get back to our place, but it was probably 2 hours and several miles longer than what we had planned on.

01/12/26 Just a couple of things going on

Every Monday night we do family night pizza. This has included Eldon and Diane for quite awhile now. They left on a round the world cruise and will be gone from January - May. So we sent them a pic of these two cuties and told them we missed them.  Found this fun scratch off -- you can mark everywhere you've been. We want to travel in our retirement and thought this would be a fun way to keep track of it. (We also have a world map but I think 1 on the wall is enough).  SO this is our little inspiration wall to remind us to get out and see the world! Holly painted this picture on her wall a couple of years ago. I added some words and music notes in vinyl to it. I'm working on turning her bedroom into my music sanctuary.  The WELCOME pineapple sign was starting to peel off. I took off all the vinyl and painted the words instead. Gave it a nice refresh! We signed up for classes at the college too -- currently we are taking World travel, AI (artificial intelligence), Aging an...

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides.  We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more.  Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

01/13/26 How Many Cookies?!?!?

I planned to visit Washington City and go to the ladies luncheon (they do it monthly on shut off day). I found a new recipe that included putting smashed pretzels in the mix. (I had smashed pretzel, cereal mixture leftover from Christmas).  The recipe said it would make 22 cookies. I figured I would triple it and have 66.  Welp...they must have been some BIG cookies they were making...cause I got 126 cookies!!!!  What the heck?! I backed 24 of them and put the rest in the freezer. Someone will have a nice treat another day!
