02/07/98 Dallas is 3, Bryce 18 months & AJ is 6, Update

2/7/98 Saturday Dallas is almost 3 years old.  He is sweet and kind to his baby brother Bryce.  They sleep in the same room and enjoy staying up at night reading stories and talking to each other in their sweet baby voices. Dallas loves to sit and color and play cars and eat treats (but not meals). Bryce is 19 months old.  He is the baby and he knows it. He cries whenever mom or dad leave the room. He loves to do whatever his brothers are doing.  He climbs everything.  Dallas and Bryce love to climb the kitchen cupboards and sneak cookies.  They always get for both of them and share the goodies.  And they share the punishment!  Bryce is a good eater and is almost as big as Dallas. Aj is in Mrs. Davis' class in the 1st Grade at Three Falls Elementary school.  He gets ice cream, pizza, m&m's and popcorn at school.  He gets spoiled at school. Aj loves to read and takes reading tests on the computer at school.  He is the young...

12/14/95 Deanna Laurito - Christmas Letter

10/17/95 Journal Entry -- Finally, New house!

10/17/95 Tuesday What a week!  On Thursday Greg Wood called from the credit union and said $ was available.  We close Friday, October 13 at 7.12%. Moved Friday night to Saturday afternoon. Unpacked all night. Ruth came down from Provo and Laura and Ben worked their tails off!  Sunday we went to our new ward.  It is BIG! Couldn't get gas hooked up until today so we've had no hot water or stove or oven or heat (we don't need that!) Furnace is broken.  Title co called and said they made an error $1608.92 owed today.  What a joke!  I emptied out our accounts to pay it. I'm exhausted and frustrated and still happy to have a beautiful new home.

10/10/95 Journal Entry - Still no house!!!! But feeling blessed

10/10/95 Still no house - maybe this week.  Haha. Money ran out of the last issue on the people right before us.  More money may come in at a lower rate.  We'll have to see. Dallas is really growing up in a hurry. He is crawling very well on his knees, standing up on things and moving while holding furniture.  He's been really fussy this past week.  Maybe a cold or teeth.  I don't know.  I held him on the coucn all night Saturday. he is really a mama's boy and cries when I leave or come in the room. AJ is also growing up fast.  He's so independent.  He knows what he wants and often gets it.  Saturday Gma and Gpa Griffin were leaving to go home and Aj said, "Where are you going?". Grandma says, "Home to Salt Lake City."  AJ says, "Ok, just a minute I'll get my shoes on!" He is a really good looking little boy.  I sure am lucky to have such a neat family. Andy's been busy training Dean Rock.  Last two weeks he do...

09/24/95 Journal Entry - Finding treasures at a yard sale and setting goals

09/24/95, Sunday Well supposedly this week we get our house.  Monday or Tuesday.  I am excited and nervous. There are so many things we'll need to get and do.  I am worried about the neighbors and AJ needs friends. I feel very blessed and think the Lord is really taking care of our needs and wants.  It has been a huge struggle to pay tithing but I feel so blessed since we have.  It seems like I find exactly the things I need on sale or at a yard sale and that somehow things work out. Just in the last month all of the things I wanted to get AJ for his birthday I found at a yard sale for under $10!  A bike, chutes and ladders and a helicopter toy.  I found Dallas a car seat - the exact one I wanted.  I was talking to Laura and saying I didn't have any winder clothes for AJ and the neighbor boy knocked on the door and gave us a big pile, all the right size.  It has been one blessing after another. And now the house has finally started work...

09/06/95 Journal Entry Patience on getting the home, lots of work for Andy

Wednesday, September 6, 1995 Still more problems getting into our home.  I'm beginning to wonder if it will every happen. Papers were mailed to SLC and arrived after Brent left for the week. (guy processing the paperwork) Andy has worked about 28 days with no days off now.  The guy they are to hire will be in on Saturday to interview from Kentucky.  So probably another 3 weeks for Andy with no time off.  He's getting burned out.  I am trying to be supportive and make life easy as possible for him at home but it's been hard on all of us. AJ doesn't want to listen and I get tired of chasing him while taking care of Dallas too.  Things will be better soon. Michelle Schnabel and Rayme came over last night to hang out and go for a walk.  It was fun. I can tell summer is going because it is almost 7 a.m. and it's still pretty dark.  I love it when the sun shines from early in the morning until late at night.  It is still SO hot here. ...

08/24/95 Journal Entry Date night!

Thursday 8/24/95 Latest news on the house is that it is not in a FHA approved neighborhood so they've got to get it approved.  Takes a couple of days. Ugh. We'll be lucky to be out by September 1.  We may not get it if interest rates go up more.  Were at 6.96% now at 7.28%.  Just have to wait and see.  Try our patience out (and faith!) Andy and I went out alone together today. First time in a LONG time.  We went to Eldon's work - Learn Key - then went and hit a bucket of balls at the golf club. Then to K-Mart to see what they charge for bikes for AJ's 4th birthday and finally for a nice 4 p.m. lunch at Paula's Mexican Restaurant.  It was really nice to be alone and be able to hold hands in the store and talk and not be interrupted.  I really enjoyed it.  I hope we take time to do that more often. Dallas had a rough night with his cold and I'm tired!
