09/24/95 Journal Entry - Finding treasures at a yard sale and setting goals

09/24/95, Sunday

Well supposedly this week we get our house.  Monday or Tuesday.  I am excited and nervous. There are so many things we'll need to get and do.  I am worried about the neighbors and AJ needs friends.

I feel very blessed and think the Lord is really taking care of our needs and wants.  It has been a huge struggle to pay tithing but I feel so blessed since we have.  It seems like I find exactly the things I need on sale or at a yard sale and that somehow things work out. Just in the last month all of the things I wanted to get AJ for his birthday I found at a yard sale for under $10!  A bike, chutes and ladders and a helicopter toy.  I found Dallas a car seat - the exact one I wanted.  I was talking to Laura and saying I didn't have any winder clothes for AJ and the neighbor boy knocked on the door and gave us a big pile, all the right size.  It has been one blessing after another.

And now the house has finally started working out too.

I want to be the best mommy I can be for my boys.  I really love them.  I ned to start having FHE each week now that AJ's four and can understand.

I also need to continue practicing piano.  I feel truly blessed that I have been that I have been able to play and I don't want to lose my talent.

I will miss the ward and Michelle Schnabel, Kathryn Parry and Janice Oviatt.  They have made my Sunday's something to look forward to.  I hope I can feel apart of our new ward in a hurry. That's important to me.

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north.  Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby.  Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us.  Holly and Millie My dad's been in the care center so we stopped by to visit him. He's being well cared for. He is struggling to put sentences together. We came and went to church with him at the care center. He's been asking for a really good pizza. So we w...

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides.  We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more.  Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

08/20/25 Max out of pocket reached early again...hospital here we come

As is customary, within 7-10 days from returning from a trip we go to the hospital.  We stayed out of the ocean -- while we were in the Bahamas -- in order to keep Andy healthy. (We have determined that he has been getting infections through his swollen legs or cuts on his feet.)  Andy did not get infection from being naughty! haha BUT he somehow picked up COVID!  What the heck?! On Sunday last week (Aug 10) he started having a scratchy throat, voice. It got worse and most of last week he had laryngitis.  That resolved itself and he was feeling pretty fine. We had a full Wednesday. Around 9 p.m. he said he was feeling a little funky/woozy, whatever. Off?!   We went to bed and his temperature reading was still below normal but he was having body aches and shivering. We tried to sleep but he was clearly in pain and tossing and turning.  About 1:00 a.m. I got up and checked his temperature...100. Hmm. I looked at his legs and it looked like he might possi...
