06/19/87 Graduated High School!

6/19/1987

I did it!  I graduated.  All these months I've been waiting and out of nowhere it is here!  I don't even know where to begin.  i probably don't even remember it all!

Saturday Joel, Andrea, Brian and I went down to the beach.  It was cloudy and a little chilly but we had great fun anyway.  We went to Joel's beach house and ate lunch and then played volleyball on the beach, went in the water, took an ultra long walk, played games, let a toilet flush for half hour and then ate out.

It was the last time I got to see Andrea.  She went to Girl's State and won't be back.  It was really special.  I never realized how much people cared until recently.

Tuesday I had my last back appointment so Monday and Tuesday I did a swim workout.

I called Andy and talked to him for a few minutes one night.  I've gotten to see Karen loads this week which was great.

I went to wiffle ball at church on Tuesday and played my final YM/YW game!  Wednesday Tonya came from down south.  She stayed until today.  We went to Relief Society.

Thursday was packed with Graduation practice and Graduation.

After school Chuckie, Dina, Joel, Tonya, Eugene and me went to have pizza together. We talked about old times and people and places and the future.  It was a very happy time. In fact, graduation was really happy for me.  I'm so exciting to me moving on!  I don't feel a loss.  I know they'll all be there for me if I need them.  I was really surprised at how upset some people were.

Mike Fanelli's even seemed a little upset that I was going.  Brian Rappa surprise me with the kiss I never got after the prom.  Don kissed me goodbye and Time, Joel and Mike just gave me a huge hug.  Tammy and Karen and I did real well and none of us cried.  I'm not sad though.  Not now.  Of course the party ended at 1:30 a.m. and it took me until 3 a.m. to load my suitcase.  After 3 hours of sleep and writing all my thank you notes I'm still surviving.  Hopefully after I transfer I'll get a little sleep.  I'm really excited about getting to Utah though.

I want to make new friends and do great it school.  It would be great if I could lose some weight but that's not a priority right now.  I like me and I have to convince myself of that.  That's it for now!

11/09/24 The temple

St George Temple This morning I woke up early and continued to read "Your Endowment", a book Grandma Griffin gave me several years ago but that I never read cover to cover. It is of course, about the temple and the meaning behind the endowment and the other things we learn about in the temple. I'll be honest, a lot of it feels "over my head".  I am seeking to learn and know and understand more but I don't have a thorough understanding at this time.  Kathy and Steve Spring Yesterday I went to visit Kathy Spring. She worked at Washington City for many years and retired almost 3 years ago. We were good friends and she helped me in the court for quite awhile. Her husband died in January of 2020...looking back she is convinced it was covid but it was just before covid really became a thing. So it's not official. In about a years time she lost her Dad, her husband, her son and a grandson. Life was pretty rough when we were friends back then and I could see the...

10/06/24 Repairs, Funeral, Marathon, Retirement Party, Car Show, Murder Mystery, Dr Visits, Pets, Food & Church. O my!

Macy Bundy, Hudson Jones, Emily Francis It's been a wonderful, packed week with good stuff going on all around. Sunday during church I went to Andy's class for 1/2 of the second hour. The kids are nine and kind of a handful sometimes...but there was only three and they were pretty cute and fun. After Andy taught his class he went to Primary singing time and I went to the second half of a combined YW/YM class.  We had Sunday dinner with Randy & Kay, AJ, GPA, and us. Eldon and Diane are on an Elderhostel trip and will be gone for a couple Sundays with other responsibilities. Andy smoked drumsticks and I made homemade bread and cookies (both new recipes). All of our dinner was SO GOOD!!!!  Sometimes it just works, and this was one of those! YuM! Raspberry filled cookies Delicious homemade bread Bryce and Marlee and Mo left fairly early on Sunday morning. They went out to Enterprise to see her brother's kids in the primary program. They had lunch and then stopped at Holly a...

11/10/24 Election, 28 year Anniversary, 1 year Anniversary and a Sealing

Well I'm starting this early cause tomorrow morning I'm going walking extra early. But I'm still calling it 11/10.   I'm gonna run through this week and see if anything was exciting.  But first...this picture...It just kills me!  When church is just too much! Haha.  I think that was at youth conference a couple of years ago and I think it's one of the Francis boys...but I couldn't swear to it! I know you're not supposed to take pictures in the chapel.  But seriously...I couldn't resist! Speaking of the Francis family. Today at 2:30 p.m. at the Red Cliff's Temple, they sealed Laith to their family. Laith will make child # 10 (or 12?)  (And he is 10 years old).  Laith's mother died very unexpectedly within the last couple of years. Shortly thereafter his father was arrested and has been sentenced to spend the rest of his childhood and beyond (I don't know the # of years) in prison. He's a challenging child AND he got bumped around a little....
