07/31/11 Camping at SUU and Holly sprays Katie awake

7/31/2011

Well it's the fifth Sunday so Dad had to go in at 7 a.m. but I get the morning off!!! So I made strudel cake for breakfast and kailua pork and rolls for dinner.  I sure like having the morning off!!!

Dallas has to talk today in church.  On the pioneer trek.  Lucky kid.  I attached his talk if you are interested.  I think he'll do fine.   He said he might even wear his pioneer outfit...we'll see.

Time is flying...school starts in just a couple short weeks now.  Bryce is almost done his summer ag program.  I think Monday and Tuesday next week might be it.

Holly has her first ever camp out next week.  Katie's second or third...can't remember.  Anyway we are going up Cedar Mountain and staying at the SUU lodge (wussy camping...indoor on the floor of the lodge).  It'll be fun though.

The kids are kind of full of it today.  Holly woke up early and helped me with the baking and then she took a spray bottle and woke up Katie 'cause she was bored.  Hmmmm....well you can imagine how that went!  Needless to say there is a little bedlam in the house right now.

Kind of a quiet week for church.  Only had 1 or 2 girls in church last Sunday and cancelled Wednesday because Friday was the Temple trip.  Only ended up having Nikki Turner to that so she went with the boys.  So I guess I've kinda had the week off.  It was nice!  Been trying to reconnect with my girlies cause I feel like I've been so tired or busy lately that they aren't getting enough of me!  Friday afternoon we took the play-doh toys and made cookies and decorated them.  Personally I think they are yucky but the girls sure had fun doing it.  And they are almost gone so somebody's eating them.

Bryce wants me to cut his hair...so I guess I better run.

I can't wait to hear all about your week...new companion...etc!!!!  We were so hopeful to get some news on the website from your mission mama....and there was a nice pix of you...but NO NEWS!!!!!  Aaaaahhhhh well.  You looked happy and well!!! That's always good!

Take care. Love you lots!!! mom.

09/10/23 Hey, do you get to read letters on non-p day, p day?

First time trying a lime Pineapple was more pleasing than lime  Well...we went to Provo on Saturday and Sunday -- so your letter is a little later on Sunday than usual...but then I got to thinking...will you even get to see this before Thursday anyway?! So hopefully you're not sad that I'm late and all is well in CHILE.  It's a rainy sabbath here...which is weird cause we rarely get rain. But it is drizzly and rainy and our ride home was beautiful for 2 hours, raining for 1 1/2 hours, and then pretty good the rest of the way.  Let's see...what happened this week...Monday was Labor Day...so we had a day off work. Yeah!!!  We didn't have anywhere we needed to go and planned to have a quiet Monday but first, we went to this store called Sheridan's that is super close to our house. And we found some wonderful outdoor patio furniture. It took us 3 trips to get it all home and all afternoon to unpack and assemble it. So at 5:30, we were just finishing and kinda tired ...

11/09/24 The temple

St George Temple This morning I woke up early and continued to read "Your Endowment", a book Grandma Griffin gave me several years ago but that I never read cover to cover. It is of course, about the temple and the meaning behind the endowment and the other things we learn about in the temple. I'll be honest, a lot of it feels "over my head".  I am seeking to learn and know and understand more but I don't have a thorough understanding at this time.  Kathy and Steve Spring Yesterday I went to visit Kathy Spring. She worked at Washington City for many years and retired almost 3 years ago. We were good friends and she helped me in the court for quite awhile. Her husband died in January of 2020...looking back she is convinced it was covid but it was just before covid really became a thing. So it's not official. In about a years time she lost her Dad, her husband, her son and a grandson. Life was pretty rough when we were friends back then and I could see the...

10/15/23 Last Letter!

Hey! Can you believe it?!  It's your last letter from home!!! This time next week you'll be one tired Hermana sitting in my kitchen with me!!!  What a week!  Monday was Columbus Day - so everybody had to work ('cept me!!!!) haha I stayed home and worked on projects. I took your car to the tire shop and had the tires inflated and then to Walmart and got an oil change then to the car wash and got the shebang inside and out and then brought it home and scrubbed it for a couple more hours. Wow, it was dirty and still isn't great! haha.  I also cleaned the pool and worked on the yard a bit and I don't even remember what else. I just remember I was super tired by day's end!  On Tuesday Emmalee came over and did Holly's hair and makeup. She looked really pretty. Afterward, we went to the Covington Home to take pictures. And the funny thing...it was decked out in Halloween decorations. NOOOOO!!!! So we found some areas and took some pictures and I think we got a ...
