2017 6-8th Grade Volleyball Champs, WCCC
Holly's team won the WCCC volleyball championship for 6-8th graders on Saturday.  When they arrived they were told they were 2nd place to another undefeated team.  One of the girls on the team had talked to the other team and knew that had lost at least one game.  Holly's team had also lost one game.  So they should have been tied.  Also somehow through a scheduling mess up these two teams had never played one another.

SO they took this information to Daylemarie Eves and she went and checked her records.  She confirmed that the two teams were in fact tied and arranged for the girls to have an additional game Saturday between them and the other team.

They had 2 sets already scheduled and now would need to do a third set.  The additional games were scheduled in between their other sets. So they played at 11:20 - and won two games very quickly to win the set.  Then they played the 1st place team.  They lost the first game then won the second game in an extra point game.  Both games were very close. The third game was only to 10 and whoever won would be the champs (as long as the girls won their third set afterward). The game was close all the way to the end.  Our team missed their serve.  Their team missed their serve to give us the win.

The girls were pretty exhausted but when on to play another set and quickly won two games.  Pretty exciting day and ending to Holly's career playing at the WCCC.  Next year she has to play on the school team or she's done!

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north.  Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby.  Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us.  Holly and Millie My dad's been in the care center so we stopped by to visit him. He's being well cared for. He is struggling to put sentences together. We came and went to church with him at the care center. He's been asking for a really good pizza. So we w...

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides.  We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more.  Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

08/20/25 Max out of pocket reached early again...hospital here we come

As is customary, within 7-10 days from returning from a trip we go to the hospital.  We stayed out of the ocean -- while we were in the Bahamas -- in order to keep Andy healthy. (We have determined that he has been getting infections through his swollen legs or cuts on his feet.)  Andy did not get infection from being naughty! haha BUT he somehow picked up COVID!  What the heck?! On Sunday last week (Aug 10) he started having a scratchy throat, voice. It got worse and most of last week he had laryngitis.  That resolved itself and he was feeling pretty fine. We had a full Wednesday. Around 9 p.m. he said he was feeling a little funky/woozy, whatever. Off?!   We went to bed and his temperature reading was still below normal but he was having body aches and shivering. We tried to sleep but he was clearly in pain and tossing and turning.  About 1:00 a.m. I got up and checked his temperature...100. Hmm. I looked at his legs and it looked like he might possi...
