10/27/24 Pumpkin Painting

Dj has been super cute lately when they FaceTime us.  He always gets really close to the camera and as soon as he seems me he says, "Read me a story, GiGi?, Read me a story?"  In his cute lil sweet 4 year old voice. He and Ellie love to snuggle up in their bed and listen to stories. This picture was our good bye at the end of our story time Sunday evening.
Monday night was just GPA G, Andy and me. Every year we paint pumpkins for Halloween for as long as I can remember. No kids this year but we still enjoyed painting our pumpkins!

Young women's this week was a stake activity where we had movie in the park. I have been having random fevers lately and Tuesday night I had one again. BUT they didn't have any YW leaders that could go from our ward. So I went down to Middleton Park. It got dark pretty quickly after we arrived and I couldn't see or hear the movie very well so I quietly left after about 1/2 hour.
Terrible view of the movie screen!

I had bought a pumpkin that we didn't get painted on Monday night so on Wednesday night I painted one more pumpkin. All by myself. (It's kinda weird not having kids around sometime! haha)

Thursday evening we played pickleball at our friend Shane's house. They don't have lights so we could only play until about 7:30 p.m. But it was super fun!!!

I had a really fun weekend planned. I was going to do girl's game night on Friday, Had a whole list of things Saturday including an air show, jazz festival and Halloween Party, and then of course church on Sunday. I missed most all of it!  I had 100 - 101 fever Friday and Saturday evening. (I did get to play pickleball Saturday morning but I felt a little spent while I did it). I am not sure why I keep getting fevers but it makes me tired and achy and sometimes comes with a headache. I think it started back on October 11 (Columbus Day I was down and out too!)  And it's been happening a couple of nights here and there for the past 2 weeks. I'm staying home from church today. Fever is gone but I feel blah so I'm going to try to feel better. We cancelled our Sunday night dinner with everyone so we don't share this...in case it is contagious.

On the bright side, I feel good in between the fevers! haha

Dad has been sporting a side ache this week and is going in to the dr tomorrow. We're quite the pair!

11/09/24 The temple

St George Temple This morning I woke up early and continued to read "Your Endowment", a book Grandma Griffin gave me several years ago but that I never read cover to cover. It is of course, about the temple and the meaning behind the endowment and the other things we learn about in the temple. I'll be honest, a lot of it feels "over my head".  I am seeking to learn and know and understand more but I don't have a thorough understanding at this time.  Kathy and Steve Spring Yesterday I went to visit Kathy Spring. She worked at Washington City for many years and retired almost 3 years ago. We were good friends and she helped me in the court for quite awhile. Her husband died in January of 2020...looking back she is convinced it was covid but it was just before covid really became a thing. So it's not official. In about a years time she lost her Dad, her husband, her son and a grandson. Life was pretty rough when we were friends back then and I could see the...

10/06/24 Repairs, Funeral, Marathon, Retirement Party, Car Show, Murder Mystery, Dr Visits, Pets, Food & Church. O my!

Macy Bundy, Hudson Jones, Emily Francis It's been a wonderful, packed week with good stuff going on all around. Sunday during church I went to Andy's class for 1/2 of the second hour. The kids are nine and kind of a handful sometimes...but there was only three and they were pretty cute and fun. After Andy taught his class he went to Primary singing time and I went to the second half of a combined YW/YM class.  We had Sunday dinner with Randy & Kay, AJ, GPA, and us. Eldon and Diane are on an Elderhostel trip and will be gone for a couple Sundays with other responsibilities. Andy smoked drumsticks and I made homemade bread and cookies (both new recipes). All of our dinner was SO GOOD!!!!  Sometimes it just works, and this was one of those! YuM! Raspberry filled cookies Delicious homemade bread Bryce and Marlee and Mo left fairly early on Sunday morning. They went out to Enterprise to see her brother's kids in the primary program. They had lunch and then stopped at Holly a...

11/10/24 Election, 28 year Anniversary, 1 year Anniversary and a Sealing

Well I'm starting this early cause tomorrow morning I'm going walking extra early. But I'm still calling it 11/10.   I'm gonna run through this week and see if anything was exciting.  But first...this picture...It just kills me!  When church is just too much! Haha.  I think that was at youth conference a couple of years ago and I think it's one of the Francis boys...but I couldn't swear to it! I know you're not supposed to take pictures in the chapel.  But seriously...I couldn't resist! Speaking of the Francis family. Today at 2:30 p.m. at the Red Cliff's Temple, they sealed Laith to their family. Laith will make child # 10 (or 12?)  (And he is 10 years old).  Laith's mother died very unexpectedly within the last couple of years. Shortly thereafter his father was arrested and has been sentenced to spend the rest of his childhood and beyond (I don't know the # of years) in prison. He's a challenging child AND he got bumped around a little....
