04/07/17 Temple visit

Friday nights Grandma and Grandpa Griffin and Uncle Ben and Aunt Laura work in the St. George Temple baptistry. We like to go when we can and be with them. Sometimes we even get to bring a friend or two (Charity Hurdman this time!!!)

We usually make it a girls night out and it is really a nice time to bond and have fun together. On this trip we went to the music store for Katie to spend a reward she had won at school (She got a Jon Schmitt book for the piano!!!! She is SO excited!) Then we went to the grocery store (boring) because Smith's was having their case lot sale, and Traders -- always fun to find treasures there.

The temple was crowded so we were able to sit for almost an hour and sit close and read scriptures and smile and whisper to each other.

There was a girl from SUU there alone and she sat with us and stayed with us through confirmations. I don't remember her name but she seemed very happy to "make friends" and have someone to be with at the temple.

Afterward we went to swig and got sugar cookies (different from our usual ice cream tradition!).

It was a nice evening!!!

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides. We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more. Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north. Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby. Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us. 12/25/25 Griffin Christmas Party

Our annual Griffin Family Christmas Party - we had turkey, ham, potatoes, Laura's famous gingerbread cookies and so many other delicious treats. We did our favorite things gift exchange (everyone brings an item valued at $25 that they love. Then all the gifts are placed in the middle of the room. Everyone is given a # from 1 - however many people there are. Then one by one everyone picks a present. It can then be stolen away (up to 2Xs) or a new gift can be selected until everyone has had a turn and all steals are exhausted. We do this instead of buying gifts for everyone in the family.
