04/26/17 Hawaii, Day Six - Anini Beach & Napoli Coast Sunset Cruise

All week we've been saying we were going to do one big thing.  Only as we looked into the big things we realized they cost a lot more than we wanted to spend.  It was almost $500 to do a helicopter ride and 4-wheelers were about $400.  The sunset cruise was $175/head -- until Tuesday night.  When we looked it up and found them for $125 each!!!  So Wednesday morning we called and scheduled the cruise for that evening. It was SO fun!!!

We had about 5 hours to go play before our scheduled cruise time so we tried Anini Beach for snorkeling.   We had heard it was pretty good.  But while we were there we weren't seeing much.  A guy came over and told us about a turtle he and his wife had seen.  It was a BIG turtle!!!  We chased it around a little while but he was pretty fast and we soon lost him. 

Then I saw this colorful fish go by...so I put my camera down and snapped a picture. When we got back we were surprised to see our fish!!  haha (see photo below)

Several people had told us we needed to try Duane's Ono Burger so we went down to Anahole and found the little shack.  It really was a tiny place we never would have found without someone telling us to look for it.  It was very expensive burgers...they were good but not as good as they were expensive!!!  Andy's was covered in too much sauce so he was a little disappointed.  But it was a fun experience!

Our Napoli Cruise was so fun and really a highlight of the trip.  So glad we did it.  We got on a boat with 18 people and cruised 11 miles up the coast. We were able to see the trail that people walk (that looked like a HARD hike!)  It usually takes 2 days to hike it and we were able to cruise it in about an hour. How cool is that?!  

We met a french girl and some people from Australia and a guy that looked like Tony Romo from the Cowboys.  Really beautiful cruise.

St George Temple This morning I woke up early and continued to read "Your Endowment", a book Grandma Griffin gave me several years ago but that I never read cover to cover. It is of course, about the temple and the meaning behind the endowment and the other things we learn about in the temple. 09/10/23 Hey, do you get to read letters on non-p day, p day?

First time trying a lime Pineapple was more pleasing than lime  Well...we went to Provo on Saturday and Sunday -- so your letter is a little later on Sunday than usual...but then I got to thinking...will you even get to see this before Thursday anyway?! So hopefully you're not sad that I'm late and all is well in CHILE.  It's a rainy sabbath here...which is weird cause we rarely get rain. But it is drizzly and rainy and our ride home was beautiful for 2 hours, raining for 1 1/2 hours, and then pretty good the rest of the way.  Let's see...what happened this week...Monday was Labor Day...so we had a day off work. Yeah!!!  We didn't have anywhere we needed to go and planned to have a quiet Monday but first, we went to this store called Sheridan's that is super close to our house. And we found some wonderful outdoor patio furniture. It took us 3 trips to get it all home and all afternoon to unpack and assemble it. So at 5:30, we were just finishing and kinda tired ...

10/06/24 Repairs, Funeral, Marathon, Retirement Party, Car Show, Murder Mystery, Dr Visits, Pets, Food & Church. O my!

Macy Bundy, Hudson Jones, Emily Francis It's been a wonderful, packed week with good stuff going on all around. Sunday during church I went to Andy's class for 1/2 of the second hour. The kids are nine and kind of a handful sometimes...but there was only three and they were pretty cute and fun. After Andy taught his class he went to Primary singing time and I went to the second half of a combined YW/YM class.  We had Sunday dinner with Randy & Kay, AJ, GPA, and us. Eldon and Diane are on an Elderhostel trip and will be gone for a couple Sundays with other responsibilities. Andy smoked drumsticks and I made homemade bread and cookies (both new recipes). All of our dinner was SO GOOD!!!!  Sometimes it just works, and this was one of those! YuM! Raspberry filled cookies Delicious homemade bread Bryce and Marlee and Mo left fairly early on Sunday morning. They went out to Enterprise to see her brother's kids in the primary program.
