07/05/17 Day Six - Park City - Mojo's and Factory outlet and Chabasco's

Lazy day with just us and the girls.

Andy had a rough night due to back pain and elevation and such.  I had a terrible night due to asthma and not having an inhaler readily available.  So we didn't get moving early!!!

We had a secret shop at Mojo's restaurant up by the alpine slide so we went and did that afternoon.  We got a couple of entrees and shared them four ways. Also some nachos and cookies.  We found a souvenir shop and everyone got cute park city shirts. Then it started raining and thundering -- not forecast, no expected -- didn't last long!

It was kind of nice though because it cooled everything down.  So we went to the outlet malls and walked around for a long time.  Found Andy some sneakers for pickle ball -- he wanted daily shoes too but we didn't have any luck with that.   We walked the whole lower half of the outlets and then headed over to walmart.

While on this trip Andy decided for sure to go to Mexico for surgery.  The surgery is two weeks away -- which means he has to start a special diet immediately.  So we went over to walmart to pickup some protein powder and gatorade and things.  Prior to the surgery he has to try to lose a bunch of weight to help make it easier to perform the surgery.  It will be a rough couple of weeks - shakes, salads, no sodas.  So we are gearing up to help out and get through it!

For Andy's "last supper" before the surgery we went to Chubasco's - a park city local Mexican joint.  That place was super crowded and yummy.  We got two entrees and shared them again along with nachos.  We had a fun time with the girls and enjoyed Andy's last real meal.

After dinner we went straight instead of turning and decided to take a nice drive.  We found some fun signs -- lil Kate driver and Andy for Mayor!

The weather gets cool here in the evening and the pool has pretty chilly water so we didn't swim -- the girls read books and hung out (it was already after 9 p.m.!!!!)

Andy and I decided to go to the hot tub late though!  It was so nice.  Everyone was gone and we had it to ourselves again and had a little hot tub date late in the evening!  The pool says it closes at 10 but we stayed until almost 11 p.m. and there was noone to tell us to go home so we didn't!  I thought we'd be freezing but sitting in the hot tub for awhile heats you up so it wasn't cold at all!

11/09/24 The temple

St George Temple This morning I woke up early and continued to read "Your Endowment", a book Grandma Griffin gave me several years ago but that I never read cover to cover. It is of course, about the temple and the meaning behind the endowment and the other things we learn about in the temple. I'll be honest, a lot of it feels "over my head".  I am seeking to learn and know and understand more but I don't have a thorough understanding at this time.  Kathy and Steve Spring Yesterday I went to visit Kathy Spring. She worked at Washington City for many years and retired almost 3 years ago. We were good friends and she helped me in the court for quite awhile. Her husband died in January of 2020...looking back she is convinced it was covid but it was just before covid really became a thing. So it's not official. In about a years time she lost her Dad, her husband, her son and a grandson. Life was pretty rough when we were friends back then and I could see the...

10/06/24 Repairs, Funeral, Marathon, Retirement Party, Car Show, Murder Mystery, Dr Visits, Pets, Food & Church. O my!

Macy Bundy, Hudson Jones, Emily Francis It's been a wonderful, packed week with good stuff going on all around. Sunday during church I went to Andy's class for 1/2 of the second hour. The kids are nine and kind of a handful sometimes...but there was only three and they were pretty cute and fun. After Andy taught his class he went to Primary singing time and I went to the second half of a combined YW/YM class.  We had Sunday dinner with Randy & Kay, AJ, GPA, and us. Eldon and Diane are on an Elderhostel trip and will be gone for a couple Sundays with other responsibilities. Andy smoked drumsticks and I made homemade bread and cookies (both new recipes). All of our dinner was SO GOOD!!!!  Sometimes it just works, and this was one of those! YuM! Raspberry filled cookies Delicious homemade bread Bryce and Marlee and Mo left fairly early on Sunday morning. They went out to Enterprise to see her brother's kids in the primary program. They had lunch and then stopped at Holly a...

11/10/24 Election, 28 year Anniversary, 1 year Anniversary and a Sealing

Well I'm starting this early cause tomorrow morning I'm going walking extra early. But I'm still calling it 11/10.   I'm gonna run through this week and see if anything was exciting.  But first...this picture...It just kills me!  When church is just too much! Haha.  I think that was at youth conference a couple of years ago and I think it's one of the Francis boys...but I couldn't swear to it! I know you're not supposed to take pictures in the chapel.  But seriously...I couldn't resist! Speaking of the Francis family. Today at 2:30 p.m. at the Red Cliff's Temple, they sealed Laith to their family. Laith will make child # 10 (or 12?)  (And he is 10 years old).  Laith's mother died very unexpectedly within the last couple of years. Shortly thereafter his father was arrested and has been sentenced to spend the rest of his childhood and beyond (I don't know the # of years) in prison. He's a challenging child AND he got bumped around a little....
