11/02/15 LETTER FROM AJ TO BJ

Hey bro,

Hope you had a good week, mine has been excellent. This week school was busy and good and I also got called as 2nd counselor in the EQP in my ward so we had lots of meeting trying to get HT and things set away. Mom and Dad came up for a game at Bear River and we all met up a Astro burger afterwards as I was coming from Tooele from a game too. That was really fun and it was a surprise that mom came as I did not expect that.

I would say my spiritual experience of the week was on Saturday, I went on a long bike ride up to highland, the mouth of AF canyon and around there. The bike trail takes you along the ridge line and you can see the whole valley and are at the base of Mount Timp and other mountains. It is just a beautiful trail. As I was riding at one point I was the only one on the trail and I was just admiring the mountains and how intricate and detailed and majestic they are. I was thinking about life and kind of having a conversation with God when I realized that if God can make such amazing and awe-inspiring mountains he certainly can make my life work out. With that I just felt like I needed to continue to work hard with all my heart, might, mind and strength and that by being obedient and faithful things will work out.

Have a great week and now is the time to sprint to the end, the last half or so of your mission, it will go by so quick you will be amazed. Use time wisely and push yourself even when you are tired and want to rest, the time you have to serve the Lord as a missionary is incredibly short! You will cherish those tough days forever when it is all done.

Love you bro!

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north.  Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby.  Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us.  Holly and Millie My dad's been in the care center so we stopped by to visit him. He's being well cared for. He is struggling to put sentences together. We came and went to church with him at the care center. He's been asking for a really good pizza. So we w...

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides.  We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more.  Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

08/20/25 Max out of pocket reached early again...hospital here we come

As is customary, within 7-10 days from returning from a trip we go to the hospital.  We stayed out of the ocean -- while we were in the Bahamas -- in order to keep Andy healthy. (We have determined that he has been getting infections through his swollen legs or cuts on his feet.)  Andy did not get infection from being naughty! haha BUT he somehow picked up COVID!  What the heck?! On Sunday last week (Aug 10) he started having a scratchy throat, voice. It got worse and most of last week he had laryngitis.  That resolved itself and he was feeling pretty fine. We had a full Wednesday. Around 9 p.m. he said he was feeling a little funky/woozy, whatever. Off?!   We went to bed and his temperature reading was still below normal but he was having body aches and shivering. We tried to sleep but he was clearly in pain and tossing and turning.  About 1:00 a.m. I got up and checked his temperature...100. Hmm. I looked at his legs and it looked like he might possi...
