07/10/86 Jeudi (Thursday) Beach and Chinese Food in Trouville

I finally made it to the real beach - with sand, boardwalk and water. And it RAINED! And it was FREEZING! So we walked the boards in the rain. I love it!

When we were so cold and wet that we couldn't stand it anymore we went back to the car.

And then something so amazing and unbelievable happened - I ate Chinese Food! Not just the side stuff for people who don't like Chinese - but real Chinese menu food. I had little ravioli noodles w/who knows what inside as an appetizer and then chicken and veggies in curry. Also rice dessert was the greatest. I had apple something and it was little apple rings with crepes or something on top. Yum!

After lunch we walked all through Trouville. We saw an aquarium then went to Cote de Grace. It is a neat little cathedral church. Had dinner here - Pizza! And watched TV again.

Reeally great day (would have been great to go swimming but...)

Picked up some hitchers today from Holland who are touring France by hitchhiking around -- Cool!!!

01/12/26 Just a couple of things going on

Every Monday night we do family night pizza. This has included Eldon and Diane for quite awhile now. They left on a round the world cruise and will be gone from January - May. So we sent them a pic of these two cuties and told them we missed them. Found this fun scratch off -- you can mark everywhere you've been. We want to travel in our retirement and thought this would be a fun way to keep track of it. (We also have a world map but I think 1 on the wall is enough). SO this is our little inspiration wall to remind us to get out and see the world! Holly painted this picture on her wall a couple of years ago. I added some words and music notes in vinyl to it. I'm working on turning her bedroom into my music sanctuary. The WELCOME pineapple sign was starting to peel off. I took off all the vinyl and painted the words instead. Gave it a nice refresh! 06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides. We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more. Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

01/13/26 How Many Cookies?!?!?

I planned to visit Washington City and go to the ladies luncheon (they do it monthly on shut off day). I found a new recipe that included putting smashed pretzels in the mix. (I had smashed pretzel, cereal mixture leftover from Christmas). The recipe said it would make 22 cookies. I figured I would triple it and have 66. Welp...they must have been some BIG cookies they were making...cause I got 126 cookies!!!! What the heck?! I backed 24 of them and put the rest in the freezer. Someone will have a nice treat another day!
