07/16/86 Mercredi (Wednesday) Meeting new people, dishes and a piano

I really miss those guys! They made everything so exciting - something different all the time and good food too! Now I'm back to hamburgers! Yuk.

I met another of Colett's friends today.  She had a neighbor who was 25.  Once again within 10 minutes of talking he wanted to know if I had a boyfriend here or at home etc.  What is it with these guys? He wasn't even French!  He was from Pakastan.  He was nice but a little too much -- know it all.  I will see him again Friday- Yuk!

Tomorrow we aren't going to Paris - too hot.  Instead we are going to Jeromes.

I don't remember if I wrote this in here before but I do the dishes everyday.  It isn't so bad though because it is usually only 2 or 3 or us.

I found a piano today.  It is only 2.5 miles away.  It is in a nursing home where we went to church.  Unfortunately I had no music but Collette said we can go back sometime.  The father is really nice.  He says I am welcome to play! Super!

Maybe the next 10 days won't be so bad!

I can't stop thinking about Jillian and the things he said.  Why do they make sense?  He really has made me think. Maybe I just like him or something.  It's weird! Bonsoir

01/12/26 Just a couple of things going on

Every Monday night we do family night pizza. This has included Eldon and Diane for quite awhile now. They left on a round the world cruise and will be gone from January - May. So we sent them a pic of these two cuties and told them we missed them.  Found this fun scratch off -- you can mark everywhere you've been. We want to travel in our retirement and thought this would be a fun way to keep track of it. (We also have a world map but I think 1 on the wall is enough).  SO this is our little inspiration wall to remind us to get out and see the world! Holly painted this picture on her wall a couple of years ago. I added some words and music notes in vinyl to it. I'm working on turning her bedroom into my music sanctuary.  The WELCOME pineapple sign was starting to peel off. I took off all the vinyl and painted the words instead. Gave it a nice refresh! We signed up for classes at the college too -- currently we are taking World travel, AI (artificial intelligence), Aging an...

01/13/26 How Many Cookies?!?!?

I planned to visit Washington City and go to the ladies luncheon (they do it monthly on shut off day). I found a new recipe that included putting smashed pretzels in the mix. (I had smashed pretzel, cereal mixture leftover from Christmas).  The recipe said it would make 22 cookies. I figured I would triple it and have 66.  Welp...they must have been some BIG cookies they were making...cause I got 126 cookies!!!!  What the heck?! I backed 24 of them and put the rest in the freezer. Someone will have a nice treat another day!

03/27/26 Trip to Italy, Day 4, Friday, Venice to Florence

We headed out around 9 a.m.  and got some breakfast in the train station. We played some games until it was time to go just at a table outside of the restaurant. We traveled from Venice to Florence by train… about 2 hours. It was really comfortable and nice and fun to watch the countryside go by. They even served soda and a snack on the train! Upon arrival we dropped off our luggage at the travel agency. Found some food at a grocery store and ate on a   bench on the street. The streets were sooo busy! We then had a tour of the largest cathedral in Italy, Duomo, the crypt below and Kevin and Becky climbed the bell tower. Over 400 steps to a beautiful view of Florence. Fun fact...every city in Italy has a Duomo -  Duomo means the biggest (most important) chapel in that city.  We walked back to our place…and wow!! It’s on the fourth floor and it is awesome. Very spacious 2B3b with a washer. There was a little tiny elevator to go up to the apartment. It had windows so yo...
