02/05/11 Temple, spin & superbowl

2/5/11
Holy Smokes this week flew by.  I swear there was something going all the time.
We of course went to G'ma and pa's last week.  B & L and Nick and Bree and Jared and the kids all came too.  Austin and Lyndsie didn't though.  We had a nice visit with a family home evening after dinner.
I had my biggest month ever at work last month.  We did over $50K in January and 325 tickets.  All time high in money and tickets filed.  No wonder my phone is ringing off the hook all day every day!
Wednesday we took the girls to the temple.  I had 4 members go do baptisms and 3 non-members go with me to the visitor center for a tour.  The girls said they had never been there before.  Surprised me since they are all from here.  I think they enjoyed the experience.  They have a cool game there where you point at a map as it tells you a temple name and guess where the temple is.  Then it tells you how far off you are (ESPN had a game like that for the colleges).  We played that for a little while.  Afterward we went to Village Inn for free pie Wednesday and everybody had a slice with some hot cocoa or ice cream.  It was cool.
Thursday I had my first camp meeting getting us all geared up for Girl's Camp.  I have to admit I'm kind of excited.  It will be really fun.
Yesterday after work we had Girl Scouts and then I gave blood and then went to the Turner's for a girls night.  We played games and made popcorn and snowman (white chocolate dipped pretzels with candy on top decorated to look like a snowman) -- cute.
Today I did Julene's spin class (the new spin room is always 80 degrees (HOT!!)  so I got totally soaked!!)   Me and Dallas went to Rite Aid and got the medicine for his face and then we painted the fence white.  That poor fence is getting old and tired.  I am not sure how much better it looked even with a new layer of paint.  I did your taxes and started mine today.  Looks like you'll get some $ back if I've done it right.  I think I have one more # to add to yours before I'm done.  Whatever it is, I'll put it in your account when I get it.  I think it was around $200 give or take.
Tomorrow is the super bowl -- so we'll have G'ma and pa and E&D over.  Not sure if anyone else is coming.  We are having all the usual -- soda, lil smokies, peanut butter bars, chips and queso.  I dunno what else.  Lots of junk.  Pig out party.   Should be great after fast sunday and all!
I hope you are having a terriffic week.  All the other mission mama's are jealous at how much and how wonderful your letters are.  I keep hearing how mature you are and how detailed your letters are.  It is pretty cool, so keep up the good work!
How did Jofferson's baptism go?  I can't believe you already are getting to dunk someone! That is so cool!!! Give us lots of details about that!
How did transfers go?  Did you guys get to stay together?
Well we are BBQ'n and they are calling me telling me it's ready so I better go.  Love you lots!!!!  Hope you are still doing great.  Love you!!!! mom.

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north.  Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby.  Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us.  Holly and Millie My dad's been in the care center so we stopped by to visit him. He's being well cared for. He is struggling to put sentences together. We came and went to church with him at the care center. He's been asking for a really good pizza. So we w...

07/10/2025 Dad's Passing

Dad's stay at the care center ended up being 35 days. He had a care giver that really connected with him named Michael. Michael cared for him when he was living at home and then came out a couple of times to the care center before he died. He really appreciated those visits and lit up when Michael came to visit and help care for him. I'm thankful that I was able to see him the two weekends about two weeks before he died. He was still able to smile and sit and eat at that time. I'm so glad that Ruth and Becky were able to take the time and spend quite a bit of time with him the last couple of weeks before he died. His condition continued to deteriorate and it was not easy to see him that way and spend so much time there. But my sisters and Suzanne did what they could to make him comfortable at the end.  He was found dead in his bed on the morning of July 10. Rest in peace, Dad. I love you!

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides.  We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more.  Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )
