10/11/2005 Letter to Becky

Things are crazy as usual.
Yesterday I had off – Columbus Day – had a nice day.  I did some laundry and house stuff but nothing too serious!  Mostly just hung out with Andy and the girls and had a nice day.

Andy and I had a nice Anniversary get-away last Wednesday.  Andy’s parents came and watched the kids from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. and we went to Mesquite and got a room and had a buffet and went swimming and then went home.  Would have been nice to stay over night but it is TOO much hassle at this stage.

Webelos Day Camp, Dallas Griffin middle

Saturday was Webelos Day camp.  It was pretty cool.  They had 6 stations where they did requirements.  They had a science rotation, made catapults, did art work, learned how to use a knife and build a fire, rope tying and compass use.  They had a catered lunch that was awesome – shredded beef sandwiches, dutch oven potatoes, salad and peach cobbler.

Sunday I substituted for Nursery.  The kids were all very good.  Only had 1 escape and 1 poopie diaper.
This week there is R.S. dinner tonight, AJ has a football game in Cedar City tomorrow – me and the kids will go to Grandma’s all afternoon and help them paint their fence. Thursday is scouts – we are going to the dino Museum and Andy works Thursday night doing a game and then it’s weekend again!

I am sitting in on interviews for our new police department staff all morning tomorrow.

On and on it goes!

Oh yea and we have/had mice…eeeeek!  We caught 4 last week.  We found a hole in the wall that they were coming in through that hopefully closing off will eliminate any future mice.  I had the pleasure of seeing 2 of them running across my floor.  I squealed both times.   I HATE MICE!!!!  Almost makes me wish I had a cat…NOT!

I am walking MWF with our neighbor that has twins that are 1.  We go from 6:10 to 6:50 – after I take AJ to school and before her husband leaves for work – no kids.  It is nice.  I just hope that as it gets colder we don’t both wus out.  I don’t like the cold weather and she can’t go any later…We’ve been doing about 2 miles at a time – I think…I have to measure our route for sure.

06/14/25 Pre-Yellowstone

Last year for Christmas I purchased a vacation to Yellowstone for the kids and us. The dates for the Yellowstone cabin were June 16-June 20. We decided to break the trip up a little and drive up the weekend before and drive home the weekend after. Also, because Katie got married, and Dallas has limited time off, he was unable to take his family on the trip. We stayed at his house and got some twin time in before we continued north.  Aspen and John moved to Pennsylvania and are in Utah for the summer. On our way up north we stopped at Becky's house to see them and their sweet new baby.  Erik recently got a new job so he was also not able to join us on our trip. Holly became our little girl again and traveled with us.  Holly and Millie My dad's been in the care center so we stopped by to visit him. He's being well cared for. He is struggling to put sentences together. We came and went to church with him at the care center. He's been asking for a really good pizza. So we w...

06/16/25-06/20/25 Yellowstone

We had a really great week on our Yellowstone trip. We stayed at a VRBO cabin in a remote cabin in Ashton, Idaho. It was just right for our group. We were able to go to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mesa Falls, the Yellowstone Playhouse, Lava Hot Springs Pools and Slides.  We drove lots, played games, did puzzles, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, enjoyed picnic lunches, ice cream at the frost top, dinners together made by each lil family and so much more.  Loved it! (There are lots more pictures in our shared Yellowstone google album. Also, these pictures are not in order of happening. )

08/20/25 Max out of pocket reached early again...hospital here we come

As is customary, within 7-10 days from returning from a trip we go to the hospital.  We stayed out of the ocean -- while we were in the Bahamas -- in order to keep Andy healthy. (We have determined that he has been getting infections through his swollen legs or cuts on his feet.)  Andy did not get infection from being naughty! haha BUT he somehow picked up COVID!  What the heck?! On Sunday last week (Aug 10) he started having a scratchy throat, voice. It got worse and most of last week he had laryngitis.  That resolved itself and he was feeling pretty fine. We had a full Wednesday. Around 9 p.m. he said he was feeling a little funky/woozy, whatever. Off?!   We went to bed and his temperature reading was still below normal but he was having body aches and shivering. We tried to sleep but he was clearly in pain and tossing and turning.  About 1:00 a.m. I got up and checked his temperature...100. Hmm. I looked at his legs and it looked like he might possi...
